prismacolor pencils, rapidograph pen

when all written information was hand produced, the documents were imbued with the energy of the artist whose hand/mind trance experience was integrated into the work.

memorial park bandshell

1978
latex house paint

I met a Pasadena parks commissioner and told him about how much I wanted to paint the art deco buildings that were at the time decaying in old town.

he got me in front of the city council with some sketches of my plan to bring the bandshell to life. the city sprang for materials, and I learned how to paint gradients on architecture, which I did for the next few years in 29 Palms, California and Port Townsend, Washington.
