acrylic on canvas

drawn on a napkin one long night on Potrero Hill.
I stretched the canvas over my windows in a shack on Mt. Tam, Marin County, last year of high school.

I sent it as part of my CalArts admission portfolio, which attended in the fall of 1975.

left school to paint in a $50 office in old town Pasadena and drive a cab.

sinn fein means ourselves alone in gaelic I think.
the words came after years of adding slowly to what was a great and tedious project. the work allowed me to reach hypnotic states – it was my temple. I believe in hoo doo, this is some of mine.
